Martin Gärttner is a principal scientist within the Abbe Center of Photonics, which bundles research activities in optics and photonics in Jena.
FOR5919 logo
We are funded by the DFG within the research unit MLCQS (FOR 5919). Within this network, we work on machine-learning assisted readout methods for quantum simulators (Project 5, with Monika Aidelsburger and Christof Weitenberg).
QPhoton logo
We are supported by the Carl Zeiss Foundation within the QPhoton project, where we collaborate with Patrick Emonts (Ulm), Florian Meinert, and Tilman Pfau (Stuttgart) on efficient state-preparation methods for Rydberg quantum computing platforms.
DigiQ logo
We are contributing to the EU-funded educational consortia DigiQ and EQA (European Quantum Academy), which promote master-level education in quantum science and technology through EU-wide collaborations.
BMFTR logo
We are funded by the German Ministry of Science, Technology, and Space within the collaboration project BeRyQC between the Universities of Stuttgart, Siegen, Hamburg, and Jena, which aims to develop new benchmarking tools for Rydberg quantum computers. Our goal is to devise entanglement-based benchmarks and to study their behavior under the optimization of quantum algorithms with respect to specific hardware capabilities.
SFB NOA
We are funded by the DFG within the Collaborative Research Center NOA (SFB 1375, Nonlinear Optics down to Atomic scales). Within this collaboration, we work on characterizing and tailoring quantum states of light from unconventional sources (project A7) together with the group of René Sondenheimer.
SFB 1225 ISOQUANT
We were funded by the DFG within the Collaborative Research Center ISOQUANT (SFB 1225, 2020-2024). Within this network we studied entanglement in quantum fields (Project A06) and the dynamics of disordered quantum systems (Project A05). We are still actively collaborating with the involved experimental groups in Heidelberg.
Baden-Württemberg foundation
We were funded by the Baden-Württemberg foundation (2021-2024) within the competence network Quantum Technologies Baden-Württemberg, where we investigated methods for verifying quantum simulators in collaboration with the group of Alexey Ustinov at KIT.
Cluster of Excellence STRUCTURES
We were funded by the Cluster of Excellence STRUCTURES (2021-2023) within which we collaborated with Razvan Gurau and Christoph Schnörr on two exploratory projects.
